Birmingham City University - Demo:Dram

Birmingham City University’s drama department appointed Mr Flynn Creative to develop a new WordPress website design to showcase their Drama in Education (DiE) Demo:Dram European project.

The Demo:Dram, democracy through drama project, is a six year initiative with European partners and is the ‘go to place’ for engaging drama workshops and teachers support across Europe.

Having a clear agenda with metrics to deliver, it was important that the website design represented the initiative clearly and was easily found through keyword phrase searches through Google. The new website design is engaging and quickly develops users confidence in the websites purpose. Having a Europe wide audience meant that the website had to be easy to understand and teaching resources easily found.

Birmingham City University’s drama department had little experience developing a website design and it’s requirements, such as content creation and the search-ability of a website. We hand held them through the processes required to achieve the final website design. We also sat in on several meetings to direct staff members and to make sure their internal design department knew what was being delivered and what they needed to do to maintain the website.
